Banking in a Digital World (the “Contest”) In Partnership with RBC

ELIGIBILITY

The Contest is only open to residents of Canada excluding Quebec who, at the time of entry: (a) have reached the legal age of majority in their province/territory of residence at the time of entry; or (b) are thirteen (13) years of age or older, but have not reached the legal age of majority in their province/territory of residence (a “Minor”), and whose parent/legal guardian has agreed on his/her own behalf and on such Minor’s behalf, that each of them will be bound by these Rules.  The Contest Judges (defined below) and the employees, directors, officers, independent contractors, representatives or agents (and those with whom such persons are living, whether related or not) of Open Screenplay  (the “Sponsor”), Royal Bank of Canada (the “Prize Provider”), and each of their respective parent companies, subsidiaries, affiliates, prize suppliers, advertising/promotion agencies and any other individual or entity involved in the development, production, administration, or fulfillment of the Contest (collectively, the “Contest Parties”) are not eligible to enter the Contest.

NOTE TO MINORS: The Sponsor reserves the right, in its sole and absolute discretion, on a random audit basis or at any time and for any reason, to contact a Minor’s parent/legal guardian for the purposes of verifying his/her: (i) agreement to be legally bound by these Rules on his/her own behalf and on such Minor’s behalf; (ii) consent to the Minor’s participation in this Contest; and/or (iii) consent to the collection of the Minor’s personal information. Failure of a Minor’s parent/legal guardian to complete any such required verification to the complete satisfaction of the Sponsor within the timeline specified by the Sponsor may, in the sole and absolute discretion of the Sponsor, result in the disqualification of such Minor.

To be eligible, a Story Concept must:

  • reflect the topic of “Banking in a Digital World” – provide us with a Story Concept about how digital or mobile banking has improved your life, or has the potential to do so (for example, Can this technological wonder make us more present? Give us more time to parent? Facilitate great memories and spontaneous adventures?  What would you tell a person who still stands in line to pay his bill or hasn’t discovered the magic of a mobile deposit? Would you help keep your grandmother safe from COVID-19 with the convenience of mobile banking?  Or show her how to E-transfer your birthday gift?);
  • be a fictional, unique and original Story Concept;
  • be written in English; and,
  • be in accordance with Open Screenplay’s Terms of Use, the Participation Requirements set out below, and all other requirements stated within these Rules (all as determined by Sponsor in its sole and absolute discretion).    
  • The Story Concept must be completed on openscreenplay.com using your Open Screenplay account. You must provide all of the required information and follow any on-screen instructions provided to complete the foregoing requirements. Upon starting a Story Concept for the Contest in accordance with the steps above, you may continue to work on or revise your Story Concept throughout the Contest Period before submitting your completed Story Concept – however, to be eligible for consideration, your Story Concept must be completed and submitted prior to the close of the Contest Period (as determined by the Sponsor in its sole and absolute discretion).
