You represent that any screenplay submissions by you are original and do not infringe upon, misappropriate or violate the rights of any third parties, including, without limitation, any intellectual property rights, rights of publicity or privacy or any other proprietary rights.

You agree to exclusively option the winning screenplay to Open Screenplay for the purpose of producing a single short film production based upon the respective winning screenplay in consideration for an Initial Option fee of 1,000 USD for the overall winning screenplay to be paid by Open Screenplay and you further agree to irrevocably waive your respective moral rights in respect of the winning screenplay in favor of Open Screenplay and its successors, assigns and licensees.

Open Screenplay has the sole discretion to decide all matters related to the film production, including but not limited to, timeline for completion of production, setting the production budget, selecting of filming locations, and the selection of director, producer, cast, and crew.

Prior to production, Open Screenplay reserves the right to make edits to the final winning screenplays to help with readability, clarity, or producing issues.

Open Screenplay reserves the right to change any dates related to this contest, including cancellation of this contest entirely and without any compensation of liability to the participants. Announcements and email updates will accompany any changes to dates.
