Tip #1:  Ask: Who is the focus of the story or storyline?  Who is the story about?  Who is important for us to follow in the Adventure?

Tip #2:  Determine who changes the most and how. 

Tip #3:  Identify who has a Goal to pursue and what it is. 

Tip #4:  Use your Protagonist to create an emotional experience for your audience that is appropriate for the genre and for your intentions for the entertainment experience of your story. 

Tip #5:  Make your Protagonist face the Opponent in the battle, and decide whether or not they win their goal. 

Tip #6: Make the Protagonist as active as possible.
